Adventure Lab
Connection. Curiosity. Discovery.
ADHD Group Coaching for Kids & Teens in Grand Rapids, Michigan
Finding connection with peers who share similar experiences can make a meaningful difference.
Adventure Lab brings young people together in a welcoming, small-group environment where they can connect with peers, explore how their brains work, and discover their strengths through games, outdoor adventures, creative challenges, and collaborative experiences.
This six-week program combines peer connection with opportunities to explore executive functioning, emotional awareness, communication, and problem-solving.
Our first six-week experience, Finding Your North Star, invites participants to explore what matters to them and what helps them thrive. Along the way, each participant develops a personal Adventure Map that grows with their strengths, discoveries, and strategies.
It's a place to be yourself, try new things, and discover what's possible.
What Can Adventure Lab Help With?
Through shared experiences and guided ADHD coaching, participants have opportunities to explore:
- Friendship & Connection: Discovering common interests, building relationships, and developing social confidence.
- ADHD Awareness: Understanding individual strengths, differences, and how ADHD influences everyday experiences.
- Emotions & Self-Regulation: Recognizing overwhelm, understanding emotional responses, and exploring helpful strategies.
- Executive Functioning: Exploring attention, motivation, planning, organization, task initiation, and follow-through.
- Communication & Collaboration: Practicing flexibility, self-advocacy, teamwork, and problem-solving.
Why Nature?
Nature creates opportunities for movement, curiosity, connection, and discovery.
Through outdoor adventures and hands-on challenges, participants experience executive-function skills in action while exploring what helps them feel focused, energized, and connected.
Nature is a tool for learning and growth, not a limitation. Participants can prepare for different weather conditions, and experiences can be adapted to individual needs.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does my child need an ADHD diagnosis to participate?
No formal ADHD diagnosis is required. Adventure Lab is designed for young people who may benefit from exploring ADHD-related experiences, executive functioning, and peer connection. We'll discuss whether the program is a good fit before enrollment.
How is Adventure Lab different from a social skills group?
Adventure Lab isn't a traditional social skills class. It's an experiential ADHD coaching program where young people build connections, explore their strengths, and develop awareness through shared experiences. Rather than teaching a prescribed way to socialize, we create opportunities for curiosity, collaboration, and discovery.
What if my child has difficulty making friends or participating in groups?
Adventure Lab welcomes different personalities, communication styles, and comfort levels. Activities offer opportunities to connect through shared interests, movement, games, and collaborative experiences. We'll discuss individual needs before enrollment to help determine whether the group is a supportive fit.
Will Adventure Lab take place outdoors?
Yes! Outdoor adventures are an important part of the experience. Participants should come prepared for the weather, and activities can be adapted when conditions or individual needs call for a different approach.
